It is possible that the treatment Hitler received in the field hospital of Pasewalk in Pomerania in 1918, while convalescing from blindness, included hypnosis. The blindness was the result of a British gas poison attack in northern France.
As far as Hitler could see, Germany never surrendered in November but was betrayed by socialists and Jews.
It has been said that the hypnotist suggested to him that once he recovered his sight he could become a great leader like Mohammed.
The treatment was singularly effective.
After he assumed power in 1933 the psychiatric records of the Pasewalk hospital were destroyed.
Part Three tomorrow.

Most fascinating. In general I agree with your hypothesies. I doubt that an Agreement could have been made, without occupation of the UK, leaving the BBC alone, etc. Not “molesting” those of contrary views or the Jews is also hard to fathom. But shaking off the Nazi and/or Fascist regimes I consider quite possible. Just like the Mullahs’ regime will be overthrown one if these days. I would love to discuss this sort of thing with Walter Laqueur one day. Avoiding all that bloodshed would have been quite an honorable motivation. RK
