Last Saturday night, in the opening monologue of NBC’s Saturday Night Live, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg came face to face with Jesse Eisenberg, the actor who plays him in The Social Network. They appeared together with Andy Samberg who has regularly imitated Zuckerberg in several of the show’s episodes, and on 60 Minutes.
Eisenberg was promptly interrupted by Samberg, only to be finally outdone by Zuckerberg himself.
“Why can’t I go in there? I’m the real Mark Zuckerberg,” Zuckerberg could be heard asking the show’s creator and executive producer, Lorne Michaels, adding: “Those guys are such nerds. Come on, I invented poking.”
Samberg exited quickly.
“So?” Eisenberg said.
“So?” Zuckerberg replied. “I really liked you on 60 Minutes.”
“Thanks, man.”
Eisenberg then inquired: “You ever end up seeing the film The Social Network?”
“Yeah, I did,” replied Zuckerberg.
“Cool. Thanks. And what did you think?”
“It was interesting,” Zuckerberg replied.
