Tony Hall, the head of the Royal Opera House at Covent Garden, has just been appointed to become the new boss of the BBC.
He will bring with him:

Hopefully, he has not also brought to the BBC the singing “fat lady” to signal the end. Then again, the “fat lady” had already moved from the Opera to the BBC, and was a drag queen.
