The Austrian magazine Profil wrote on December 9:
10.7 million euros – a third of the amount spent by all the parties taken together – is what Frank Stronach invested in his election campaign, with the declared goal of garnering well above ten percent of the vote.
In the end his party got less than six percent. Since election night, the party has made a spectacular display of deconstructing itself, making even the basest TV appearances by the founding father look somewhat noble in comparison. Wherever you look, it’s nothing but chaos….
Stronach continues to commute between Canada and meaninglessness, and his ever-changing personnel between kamikaze and harakiri. Politics as the pinnacle of dilettantism.
A classic case of a great manufacturer who became bored by his success. This is the result of a huge ego coupled with limited listening skills and a lack of humour. Or as the adage goes; “God save us from engineers with money!”
A great hobby for a very lucky and obviously able man! But I think I would pick a warmer country if I were to do that. :))
